Elder Eric L. Waldon

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Hearts and Minds for Christ Ministries website. This ministry was designed to create a forum that the Lord can use to minister to the body of Christ. This ministry will provide those persons who long to grow in their Christian walk and deepen their relationship with God a variety of resources to assist in their spiritual growth. We anxiously look forward to the days ahead and are excited about the opportunity to share with you and your family ministry tools that will encourage your hearts and minds toward Christ as you live to bring Him glory.

BIO

Elder Waldon is the Founder and President of Hearts and Minds for Christ Ministries. Elder Waldon grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and is a PK (preacher’s kid) and is the third of four children. His father served as Pastor of one church for forty-seven years and at the age of fifteen Elder was given saving faith by God in the Lord Jesus Christ. Growing up in the inner-city, Elder’s boyhood dream was to become a successful businessman. After high school, he went on to earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from The University of the South (Sewanee, TN) and became a Marketing Representative for a major Fortune 500 company and later a Banking Officer with a large national bank.   Believing he was on his way to a successful business career, Elder soon learned that God had other plans for his future when God called him to the Gospel Ministry. He wasn’t that surprised as he recalled a conversation he had with a cousin sharing their “future plans” during a Christmas Break of his freshman year. He mentioned then he felt God would call him to be a preacher. Answering God’s call to the Gospel Ministry, Elder began his pursuit to attain a Master’s Degree at Dallas Theological Seminary and later at Clamp Divinity School.   Elder served as a Senior Pastor in Tennessee and Ohio (twenty-five years), and is currenlty the Senior Pastor of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Stevenson, Alabama. A few of Elder’s other ministry experiences include: Minister of Music, Director of Christian Education, Faculty and Board Member of The Baptist Bible Institute of Cleveland, Executive Director of an inner city ministry, Conference Preacher, and Revival Evangelist.   He has published a book, Prayer and Its Practice (2006) along with two booklets: Why Evening Service and From Jailbird to Free Bird and is currently completing his second book. Elder’s hobbies include music (his mother made him take classical piano lessons from 2nd -12th grade) and would love to make a musical recording one day of original songs and hymns.   Elder is noted for his profound yet simple style of expository preaching, his passion for ministry and teaching God’s Word. Elder is married to Felecia and they have two sons and one granddaughter.

A Voice Crying from A City Pulpit

This present generation is witnessing an avalanche of sin and the moral decay of human society on every hand. We must hear God’s Word if we hope to be delivered from certain destruction and eternal damnation. Elder Waldon has a passion for the lost and is committed to addressing contemporary issues from the Word of God - the only power on earth that can truly change lives and the course of history. We must hear God’s Word if we want Him to hear us.

Publications

PRAYER AND ITS PRACTICE - An exposition of Luke 18. Here is solid encouragement to be persistent in prayer, to have the right attitude, to depend solely on the finished work of Christ, to rejoice in God’s sovereign election, and to be confident in the modifying influence the Word of God can have in your life.

Preachers

You have without question the most glorius work committed to mortals, the most difficult of all tasks assigned to men.  This truth is rooted in the fact that the natural man receives not the things which are God’s. You are God’s messenger, HIs ambassador, and it is His will that you are to proclaim. Preach truth to a dying world; that God might open the eyes of the blind to  know Christ, whom to know is life eternal.
